- On 20 October 2026 the moon is a waxing gibbous, 66% illuminated.
- There is no geomagnetic storm on 20 October 2026; the planetary Kp index peaks at 0, and a storm begins at Kp 5.
- The geomagnetic field is forecast at Kp 0 for the following day.
- The base frequency of the Schumann resonance is 7.83 Hz.
- The Mind University wellbeing index for 20 October 2026 is “restless”.
What is the wellbeing index?
The wellbeing index is a daily reading of four natural conditions that people often say they feel: moonlight, the geomagnetic field, the Schumann resonance and the length of daylight. It describes the day, not your health. Each condition has its own page with full data.
The week ahead, day by day
| Day | Moon | Peak Kp | Daylight | Index |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tue 20 Oct | 66% | — | 10 h 14 | Restless · 4 |
| Wed 21 Oct | 75% | — | 10 h 09 | Restless · 4 |
| Thu 22 Oct | 83% | — | 10 h 05 | Restless · 4 |
| Fri 23 Oct | 90% | — | 10 h 01 | Restless · 4 |
| Sat 24 Oct | 96% | — | 9 h 57 | Restless · 4 |
What you may notice
Some people report falling asleep later and waking earlier around the full moon.
After several active-field days in a row, weather-sensitive people describe feeling more irritable or tired.
The length of daylight shifts by a few minutes every day; the body’s clock follows it.

Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7, breathe out for 8. Ten rounds take about three minutes.
How the wellbeing index is calculated
Each signal is scored from 0 to 3 and the four scores are added. The total places the day on a scale of five levels, from calm to stormy.
| Signal | Source | Updated | Score today |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moonlight | Calculated from the lunar cycle (Meeus) | Daily | 2 · 66% |
| Geomagnetic field | NOAA SWPC planetary Kp index | Every 3 hours | 1 · Kp — |
| Schumann resonance | Observatory feed (being connected) | Hourly | 1 · — |
| Daylight change | Calculated from the sun’s position | Daily, per city | 3 · −4 min |
Questions people ask
Why do I feel tired or restless today?
On days with a bright moon or an active geomagnetic field some people report lighter sleep and tiredness. The index shows which of the four signals is elevated today. Feeling unwell for longer is a reason to see a doctor.
Is there a geomagnetic storm today?
The strip at the top shows today’s peak Kp. A storm begins at Kp 5 (level G1). The geomagnetic storm page has the hour-by-hour values and the 3-day and 27-day forecasts.
What is the moon phase today?
Today’s phase and illumination are in the answer strip. The moon page has the calendar, the next phases and the full and new moon dates for the year.
Does the full moon affect sleep?
Several studies found that people fall asleep a little later and sleep a little less in the days around the full moon; others found no effect. The difference, where it appears, is small.
What is the Schumann resonance today?
The Schumann resonance is a set of electromagnetic resonances of the space between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere. Its base frequency is about 7.83 Hz. Amplitude data will appear here once the observatory feed is connected.
What is weather sensitivity?
Weather sensitivity (meteoropathy) is the name people use for feeling changes in weather, pressure or the geomagnetic field. It is a reported experience, not a diagnosis.
Where does the data come from?
Moon and sun positions are calculated on the server with published astronomical algorithms. The Kp index comes from the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.
- NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center: planetary K index, 3-day forecast, 27-day outlook.
- Jean Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms, 2nd ed., 1998 (moon phases and illumination).
- NOAA solar calculator equations (sunrise and sunset).
