What is a karmic tail
In the Destiny Matrix the karmic tail is the three energies on the line that runs from the centre of the chart down to point D. Point D is the bottom corner of the personal square, also called the point of karma. The two energies between the centre and that point, together with point D itself, make the tail's code.
The tail is read as a memory of the soul's past experience: what was done wrong, which qualities were not developed and which situations will come back until the lesson is learned. That is why every tail has its own name, such as "Betrayal and passion in the family", "The unfulfilled magician" or "The unforgiven parent".
A tail is not a sentence. The authors of the method agree that a tail that has been worked through turns into a resource: the same three energies in their plus give strength exactly where there used to be losses.
How to calculate your karmic tail
Take the day, the month and the sum of the digits of the year of birth, each brought to a number from 1 to 22: these are points A, B and C. Point D is A + B + C, the centre is A + B + C + D. When a sum is over 22, add its digits.
The first number of the tail is D + centre, the second is D + the first number, the third is point D itself. The code is read from the centre to the edge of the chart.
Example for 23 June 1992: A = 5, B = 6, C = 21, D = 5, centre = 10. Tail: 5 + 10 → 15, 5 + 15 → 20, and point D = 5. The karmic tail is 15-20-5.
Where the tail sits and why it matters
The bottom of the chart is the zone of the past and of the family line. The money and love lines stand right next to the tail, so an open tail is felt there most often: the same scenarios with money, partners and parents keep coming back.
The code shows a theme, not a fate. How it shows in one person depends on the rest of the chart: the centre, the money line, the family lines. That is why the full reading reads the tail together with the whole chart.
How this tail shows in your own chartAll karmic tails of the Destiny Matrix
Each code has its own page: what happened in a past life, which arcana make the tail and where to start working on it.
