What happened in a past life
In a past life you lived without freedom. It may have been actual prison, physical captivity, dependence on a partner or on addictions, lack of money or poor health. A partner may have been cruel and restricted your freedom, or your parents kept you in total submission as a child.
It may also have been the other way round: you were the one who violated other people's boundaries.
One book links this tail to the 22nd arcanum, the energy of the highest spiritual freedom. It sees great spiritual and life experience here, that of a traveller who witnessed civilisations rise and fall. This gives a deep understanding of the world.
The arcana of the 3-7-22 tail
The tail is read from the centre of the chart to its edge. Each of the three numbers is an arcana with its own meaning.
Arcana 3 in the Destiny Matrix: The Empress
Closest to the centre: how the lesson shows in character
Arcana 3 in the Destiny Matrix, The Empress: feminine energy of fertility, abundance and power, home, children, status and material wealth.
Arcana 7 in the Destiny Matrix: The Chariot
In the middle: how the lesson shows in events
Arcana 7 in the Destiny Matrix, The Chariot: the energy of a warrior and winner, movement towards a goal, leadership, travel and the gift of leading people.
Arcana 22 in the Destiny Matrix: The Fool
Point D: the karmic task itself
Arcana 22 in the Destiny Matrix, The Fool: freedom from limits, lightness, travel, the inner child. In its minus: unfreedom, addictions, irresponsibility.
Where to start
- The main task is to realise that freedom starts inside and to stop building obstacles for yourself. Find spiritual freedom and freedom of will, live your own life rather than one dictated by others, and then help others find the same.
How this tail shows in your own chart
The full reading reads the tail with your whole chart: how it shows in money and relationships, its minus, all the advice for working through it and the family programs next to it.
How this code comes about
The third number is point D (the sum of the day, month and year of birth), here 22. The first number is D + the centre of the chart, here 3; the second is D + the first number, here 7. That gives the code 3-7-22.

Questions people ask
What does the 3-7-22 karmic tail mean?
The 3-7-22 tail is called "The Prisoner, the Unfree Soul". It describes a lesson the soul brought from past experience that keeps repeating until it is learned. The meaning of its three arcana and the first steps are on this page.
How do I know if I have the 3-7-22 karmic tail?
Calculate your Destiny Matrix chart from your date of birth. If the line from the centre to point D holds 3, 7, 22, this is your tail.
Can the 3-7-22 karmic tail be worked through?
Yes: the tail shows a repeating scenario, not a sentence. Once a person sees it and lives the tail's energies in their plus, the lesson closes. The full plan, read with the whole chart, is in the full reading.
